For small indie game teams

Game project management for your next playable build.

Give your next playtest a clear goal. Keep programming, art, design and audio tasks together, with owners, visible blockers and a milestone that points to the build everyone should test.

1 active project, up to 3 members and unlimited tasks. No credit card required.

From a game idea to a testable milestone

Plan the build, then the work it needs.

A long backlog does not tell a small studio what to finish next. Start with one player outcome, then connect the tasks needed to reach it.

  1. Define one playable outcome.

For a forest delivery prototype: a new player can pick up a parcel, find the destination and complete a delivery in a five-minute session without coaching.

  2. Give each task an owner.

Alex owns the delivery loop, Sam owns the route markers and Jo owns the completion sound. Track each task on the shared board and keep its discussion and files with the work.

  3. Make the blocker explicit.

If the audio export is missing, mark the task as blocked and describe what is needed. Everyone can see the next action instead of chasing updates in chat.

  4. Share the version to test.

Link the tasks to a milestone with an objective and target date. Add your externally hosted build link, run the playtest and turn the findings into the next focused tasks.

Use game-development disciplines, owners, priorities and blockers to keep cross-discipline work readable. Open a task for its details, subtasks, comments and attachments.

Keep the next playtest milestone visible.

See the playable objective, target date, linked tasks and completion progress together. Attach a build or demo link so the team tests the same version. PlayablePlan works in your browser alongside Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot or another engine; it does not build or host games.
